Nothing like working with your brother. My brother spent 24 years in the Air Force. Then retired and settled 1000 miles away from where I lived. 8 years ago I moved here to South Georgia. Now my brother work together at the church. He is the office manager and I work about 4 hours a day as custodian.

These guys really don't seem to know what they are doing. Never seen anybody work more slowly. If you put all this special equipment on a job you should have people who know how to use it. Amateur hour. Where is the oversight by the shipping company? I guess experienced riggers have all retired to Florida.

I may be stating the obvious here, but it looks to me that they didn't secure the machine to the mover, i see no securement chains attached or broken, 200 ton is going to slide if its not chained to whatever it's sitting on, especially a moving vehicle, the slightest imbalance and that things going if its just sitting there free as a bird,. prove me wrong,. great videos thanks.

Seems like they would have shored up that end of barge and had more equipment holding barge tight against ramp? But IDK maybe would have crushed barge where it was shored up?

Efficiency has come a long way on those! Pretty impressive how much it can do without having a power pack! I’ve been curious how a good quality forestry mulcher would perform on that machine. I’d still like to have a power pack but I’m guessing that would be a cost-prohibitive 100k package.

It looks like these items are components for a hot or cold strip rolling mill most likely the boxes contain components for the mechanical drive, gearboxes, spindle shafts, Mill rolls, etc. I would like to know the destination. Most steel mill processing equipment nowadays is headed the other way.

I’ve seen many times where they actually sink the barge at the pier so that it doesn’t float up or move when the heavy load is moved off.

I wonder if that really needed to be it transported as a completed part. Sometimes I think we do things just because we can.But it's not the easiest Or safest thing to do. I wonder if that part could have been assembled on-site. With numerous pieces that are lighter and easier to transport.

I'm no expert at all but seems it would have been better to pull up to the bank rather than that steep ramp.

Tim have you looked into a Rototilt or something like that to go along with your mulcher?

Those are the same type gantry’s we used to remove the reactor heads off the gohoffers and put them on the long trailers. The reactor heads were 14’ diameter and about 3 foot thick with a dome top that had the control rod stacks that we cut off, they were about 25 feet long, I think those heads weighed 450,000 pounds each. That was a good 10 to 12 years ago maybe longer. Anyway it was a neat job to be on. I was the supervisor for the radiation protection department of that project, I’m now retired.

You can have fun with that and not worry about yellow jackets 😂 I can see that thing handy on your hunting land

Great balance in that rotation assembly isn't there? It seems to want to be at it's full speed to perform best, as I was watching there towards the end of the video. The chips from the vegetation got larger as the head was not up to speed. This Shearex will make short work of clearing it's way through the brush.

The Shearex VM-35SK , should be call the "SHREDDER" for sure. An amazing attachment & future Money maker...be safe.
